are inspired by the designs of traditional Southwest Pueblo pottery, folding into pottery models of the San Ildefonso, Zia, Jemez, and Acoma Pueblos. Background information on the culture, geography, and pottery process is included. Each model is printed on a 201/2" x 71/4" card (folded in half), and when complete, stands about 33/4" tall. Northwest Coast Basketry Models are derived from original 100-year-old baskets of the Tlingit, Klickitat, Klallam, and Lillooet Peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Background information on tribal history, culture, geography, and basketry is included. Each model is printed on a 201/2" x 71/4" card (folded in half), and when complete, is 3" to about 41/2" tall. Classroom Edu-Kits are based on the popular Basketry and Pottery models featured on this catalog page. Edu-Kits integrate history, art and geography to teach children about the culture of the native peoples of the Northwest Pacific Coast or the Southwest. Simple craft items such as crayons, pencils, felt markers and craft glue are all that’s needed. Edu-Kits are most suitable for grades 4 through 6, but can be enjoyed by children of most any age.

Each Edu-Kit contains the following materials:

  • Lesson Plan (instructions, cultural essay, vocabulary, review questions and bibliography)
  • Pattern Sheet for copying (traditional motifs
